Closer to Westlake, the St. Mary Magdalene European Festival takes over the parish grounds in Fairview Park on Saturday, September 26. Maria’s Field of Hope Fall Family Fun Days, Avon

Maria’s Field of Hope, the 18-acre sunflower field operated by the Prayers From Maria Foundation, hosts Fall Family Fun Days on Saturday and Sunday, September 26-27, from noon to 2:00 PM. Mapleside Farms Pumpkin Village: Hometown Heroes Weekend runs Saturday and Sunday, September 26-27, at Mapleside Farms in Brunswick. Friday, September 25 is a separate Fun Friday running 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Friday evening), distinct from the Saturday-Sunday Hometown Heroes Weekend. The farm offers free admission with proof of profession to active or retired police officers, firefighters, paramedics, military and veterans, doctors, nurses, and teachers, and the official schedule says emergency vehicles will be on display Saturday and Sunday. Mapleside keeps its Pumpkin Village and fall festival season running on weekends through October across its scenic orchard. It is a classic family stop with fall activities, bakery items, and orchard views, and a good reason to explore the Brunswick community. For outdoor time closer to home, Bradley Woods Reservation in Westlake, Huntington Reservation in Bay Village, and the Rocky River Reservation with its All Purpose Trail are all free, open from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and ready for a hike, bike ride, or picnic.

Rocky River Fall Fest Event and 5K, Rocky River

The signature local event of the weekend is the Rocky River Fall Fest Event, Sunday, September 27, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at 21012 Hilliard Boulevard in Rocky River. The afternoon includes hayrides, a pumpkin patch, the CLE Market and Food Trucks (2:00 to 6:00 PM), a petting zoo, inflatables, airbrush tattoos, and live music by the Wishgarden Duo from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
